I'm a Senior Product Designer based in Salt Lake City. I've spent the last six years designing complex, cross-functional products. The last four of those years, I’ve been at Lucid Software, where I've worked across almost every area of the product, shipping experiences used by millions of users. In the last year and a half, I've been focused on AI-powered features for some genuinely hard canvas problems.

However, I didn't start in design. I studied sociology, which trained me to understand people in context before jumping to solutions. As a UX research shadow at GrubHub, I learned that's most of what product design is. I've been hooked ever since.

A few favorite photos taken on my trusty Nikon FG

Being a partner to my spouse and a dad to two young kids has been a huge motivator for me in my career. I have to prioritize, ensuring I'm thriving at work and relishing this precious time with my family. With whatever time is left on evenings and weekends, I make music, host dinners, enjoy Utah's vibrant scenery, and pretend I know what I'm doing with a film camera.

I also think and talk a lot about ethics in tech and AI. I'd love to hear what you think about it all.

The through line in all of it is that I'm genuinely curious about people, how they think and how they navigate the world. That's what helps me push through the hard days, whether I'm untangling a problem at work or figuring out how to make a balanced dinner that everyone in the house will eat. I still haven't figured out that last one.
